What is finipil?
|
FINIPIL CAN ONLY BE FOUND IN SELECT SALONS!
- How long do the results last? Results can be seen immediately. After your first treatments, regrowth is lighter and softer. If finipil is applied, you will initially return in four to six weeks. With each additional treatment where finipil has been applied, you will experience one third less growth each time and visits will not be required for six to ten weeks. Eventually you only need to return for treatments once to twice a year!
Frequently Asked Questions:
If Nufree isn’t a wax, what is it?
Nufree is a natural, self-preserving antibacterial/antimicrobial, anhydrous botanical formula. It contains no wax, no sugar and no honey. How long has Nufree been in existence? Nufree has been used in thousands of salons and medical offices for over 30 years. How safe is Nufree? Nufree was originally formulated for plastic surgeons who required hair removal for their patients prior to surgery. Nufree was scientifically tested for over 10 years. Why is there no pain with Nufree? Nufree never dries and doesn’t stick to the skin, so it doesn’t pull or cause painful irritation. How long does a treatment take? The average session is between 5-10 minutes. For example, eyebrows, sideburns, upper lips or one arm can be treated in 5 minutes. A full pair of arms, tummy, bikini line or underarms can be treated in just 10 minutes. A pair of legs only takes 20 minutes. How much does it cost? That will vary slightly by salon, but chances are it will cost you less than you are spending on disposable razors. Some parts of the body can be treated for less than $20. Why do I need finipil after my treatments? finipil helps shrink the empty follicle, keeps it clean and retards hair re-growth. Why can’t I do it myself? Deep hair removal is not a home treatment. Amazing long-term results are achieved because the process is performed by a trained professional. finipil helps perpetuate the results achieved through your Nufree treatment. Does it matter what applicators are used? All Registered Nufree Professional Salons MUST use sanitary disposable applicators or medical grade stainless applicators that can be cleaned. |

Waxing FAQ
Q. – Why remove hair with wax?A: Because waxing will make your skin feel soft and it lasts much longer than any other temporary method. People also wax because they feel it is more hygienic and that their hair grows back finer and sparser over time.
Q. – Does waxing hurt?A: Yes, but the pain goes away in seconds and every person’s pain tolerance is different. It does get much easier after the first time. If you are extra sensitive or about to get your period please consider taking ibuprofen 45 minutes to an hour prior to your appointment. We also carry “No Scream Cream” a topical anesthetic to ease waxing discomfort.
Q. – What steps are taken to ensure proper hygiene?A: At California Tan, all of our equipment is sterilized by a Tuttnauer 1730 Medical Autoclave. To ensure the highest standards of hygiene, our waxing sticks are dipped into sterile wax, applied to the client once, and then discarded.
Q. – Are California Tan employees licensed or specially trained in waxing hair removal?A: Yes. Our waxing specialists are licensed in the State of Pennsylvania to help ensure that our clients experience the highest level of service possible.
Q. – How long should the hair be?
A: At least 1/4 inch or 3-4 weeks of growth, whichever is longer. The longer your hair is, the better results you will get and the longer it will last.
Q. – How long does the waxing last?A: It differs with each person depending on how fast their hair grows. On average, waxing will last between 3-6 weeks depending on the area waxed. Remember the more you wax, the longer it will last!
Q. – What if I am pregnant?A: You can still get waxed and it is common for moms-to-be to get a Brazilian bikini before giving birth. Please let us know if you are in your 2nd trimester or further along when making the appointment. We will schedule more time to ensure maximum comfort!
Q. – Are there any age restrictions on waxing?A: We are a family-friendly salon, meaning you must be 16 years old to wax or have parental approval.
Q. – When should I not get waxed?A: If you are in cancer therapy, receiving chemotherapy, or radiation treatment. If you are taking Rx Accutane, Differin, Retin A, Antibiotics, or any medication that may cause sun sensitivity. You should also avoid waxing while using salicylic acid, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, Obagi products, any harsh exfoliants, or any facial peels. All these products thin out your skin and will make you more sensitive and likely to burn or peel. Please wait 2-6 weeks depending on how long you have been on the medication before you wax, as we want to make sure the medications are out of your system. If you are not sure of how you may react from any other prescriptions you are taking, please contact your physician.

Bikini Wax Preparation
Bikini Wax Preparation: The hair must be between ¼ of an inch and ½ of an inch, or long enough to lie down on the skin. It can’t be stubbly or long and puffy. If it is any longer than ½ of an inch, please trim the hair. NOTE: Please refrain from using an electric trimmer on the bikini area prior to the appointment. It makes the hair tough and more difficult to remove.
~Arrive for your appointment well hydrated. Drink plenty of water. Guests have told us that being dehydrated, they find, will make the sting feel more intense with each pull. Plenty of water in their system makes the service go well.
~Try not to consume any caffeine before the wax service. It may make you more sensitive upon each pull.
~If you are smearing prescribed topical medications on an area such as your face, you cannot be waxed in that area.
~It’s perfectly fine to be waxed while you have your period, although you may feel more sensitive to each pull. We can work around an inserted tampon. There just may be a few missed hairs in that area.
If you know for a fact have you have a low pain threshold and you are wondering how painful the wax experience may be, consider trying the “No Scream Cream”. Apply it to the area that will be waxed about 40 minutes prior to hopping on the wax table. Rub it in but not until it is completely absorbed (leave a white film on the area). By the time you get to your appointment, it will have absorbed. It dimishes the sting felt with each pull about 40%.
After Waxing: Don’t use your shower puff, loofah, or any scrubbing grains for at least 3 days. Avoid self tanner for a week.
